    • Summary
The biopesticides industry in Europe has gained from reduction in usage of synthetic pesticides because of the adverse effects associated with the latter. Since Biopesticides are products derived from natural and biological sources in contrast to mineral oil sources, their use has been found to be beneficial for humans, as well as the environment, with the other major benefit offered including their quick biodegradation. Overall, consumption and demand for Bioherbicides in the region would remain largest, though Biofungicides would record fastest growth over the 2014-2020 analysis period. By region, Germany would be the largest market for biopesticides in Europe, the UK and France are likely to post fastest growths in terms of volume and value, respectively.

In addition, several European countries have initiated national programs for promoting the use of biopesticides. For instance, France has introduced the “Ecophyto 2018” with the aim of reducing synthetic pesticide consumption by 50% by 2018. Denmark is another country that has commenced the “Green Growth” program providing financial support to developers of alternative plant protection products. This report from Mordor Intelligence on Europe’s Biopesticides market provides critical insights of the various factors contributing to their growing utilization.
