       This report forecasts total field crop seeds planted in the US in metric tons and US dollars to 2017. The total in metric tons is segmented in terms of seed type by wheat, corn, rice, other grain seeds, soybeans, cotton, and other oilseeds.

      To illustrate historical trends, the total volume of field crop seeds planted is provided in an annual series from 2002 to 2012; total volume, total value, and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2007 and 2012. The total value of field crop seeds planted is also provided in an annual series from 2002 to 2012. An Industry Overview section defines products, discusses market drivers and constraints, identifies substitute products when applicable, and provides pertinent background on genetically modified organisms, product development, and environmental and regulatory factors.

      A Demand Forecasts section assesses the impact of key drivers and constraints on each product segment over the forecast period.
